Instinct Born Power FAQ

10 questions players actually ask, answered.

What species should I pick at the start?
Each starting species (spider, human, goblin, wyrm) has different base stats and evolution paths, so pick based on whether you want to prioritize speed, magic, melee, or defense. You can't change your species later, so consider what playstyle appeals to you before confirming.
How do I level up my skills faster?
Skills grow through repeated use in combat and on blocks/mobs, so actively use the skills you want to level rather than just purchasing them. Higher-tier skills level slower than basic ones, so expect progression to take longer as you advance.
What does Appraisal actually do?
Appraisal lets you scan blocks, items, and mobs to reveal their stats, weaknesses, and health bars; at level 4 it also unlocks your own visible health and hunger interface. It's one of the most useful early skills because information helps you make better combat decisions.
I'm stuck and can't level up anymore—what's happening?
You've hit your level cap, which means you need to choose an evolution form to progress further. Open your evolution tree and select your next form to reset your level counter and unlock new stat bonuses and skills.
How do I get titles and what do they do?
Titles are earned by reaching specific milestones like defeating certain monsters or reaching level thresholds. Each title grants passive stat buffs and can unlock exclusive skills, so check your achievements regularly to see what titles you're close to earning.
Can I respec my skills or change my evolution path?
The mod doesn't provide a built-in respec system, so your evolution choices are permanent—plan your path carefully by reviewing the evolution tree before committing. Skills themselves level through use, so you can't directly reset individual skill levels.
What's the difference between skill levels and character levels?
Character level is your overall progression that caps and forces you to evolve; skill levels are individual and grow through repeated use of each skill. You can have high character level but low skill levels if you haven't practiced those specific abilities.
Are the labyrinth monsters harder than regular mobs?
Yes, custom labyrinth monsters like Elroe Frogs, Taratects, and Earth Dragon Araba are significantly tougher and designed to challenge your combat abilities and skills. Fighting them is the primary way to earn points and level up, so expect difficult battles.
Do I need to use the skill menu or can I just level up naturally?
You must purchase skills from the skill menu to unlock them—they don't appear automatically as you level. Once purchased, skills level through use, but you have to actively buy them first to gain access.
What happens if I die to a monster?
Death works like standard Minecraft survival, but you'll lose your progression momentum since you need to defeat monsters to earn points and level up. Prepare carefully before fighting dangerous labyrinth monsters to avoid losing time.
