Infinity Item Editor Re Mod FAQ

10 questions players actually ask, answered.

How do I open the item editor?
Hold an item in your hand or click on an item in a container, then press the configured keybind (default varies by mod pack). The editor window will open on your screen, showing all editable properties of that item.
Can I edit items in my inventory and containers at the same time?
Yes, you can click on items in open containers (chests, furnaces, etc.) to edit them directly without moving them to your inventory first. The editor will modify the item in its current slot.
What's the difference between the legacy layout and sidebar layout?
The legacy layout displays all editing options in a traditional menu format, while the sidebar layout uses a modern panel on the side of your screen. You can switch between them in the mod settings to find whichever feels more comfortable.
How do I copy an item's data to use on another item?
Use the copy function in the editor to save the item's NBT data, then select a different item and paste. This transfers all properties including enchantments, lore, and custom tags to the new item.
Can I edit mob spawners to spawn custom mobs?
Yes, the mod lets you edit spawner NBT data directly, including mob type and properties. Open a spawner with the editor to modify what creature it spawns and its attributes.
What does the Lore Painter tool do?
The Lore Painter lets you draw colored text art that appears in an item's tooltip when players hover over it. You paint directly in a canvas and the result is saved as lore lines on the item.
Can I make items with stack sizes larger than 64?
Yes, the mod allows you to set stack counts up to the 32-bit integer limit, though most items will only stack to 64 in normal gameplay. The editor lets you set any value, but the game may cap it depending on the item type.
Does this mod work with modded items and custom item mods?
Yes, the editor works with any item that exists in your game, including modded items. You can edit their names, lore, enchantments, and NBT data the same way as vanilla items.
How do I edit player heads to show a specific skin?
Open a player head in the editor and modify its NBT data to include the player name or skin UUID. The mod provides fields to input this information directly without manual NBT editing.
Can I save item templates to reuse later?
Yes, you can save custom items into personal creative tabs within the mod. These saved items appear in a dedicated inventory section so you can quickly access and copy your frequently-used custom creations.
