How do I start playing Infinity Cave?
Begin by exploring the new cave system that generates below Y-level -64. You'll encounter Common tier mobs first—defeat these to progress your group's point system and unlock higher tiers. It's recommended to start on Easy difficulty using /function infinity_cave:settings.
What's the progression system and how does it work?
Progression is a shared group score that increases as you defeat mobs; higher tiers unlock at specific progression thresholds (Rare tier unlocks before Legendaries, which spawn around 1000 progression). You can check your progression in tab with /scoreboard objectives setdisplay list ic.progression or manually set it with /scoreboard players set [PLAYER] ic.progression [AMOUNT].
Why aren't regular Minecraft mobs spawning in the caves?
Infinity Cave replaces vanilla mob spawning with a custom system designed around the mod's tiered mobs and progression mechanics. You can disable custom spawning entirely via /function infinity_cave:settings if you prefer vanilla behavior.
How do I prepare to fight the Bomber?
The Bomber only spawns at Epic tier or higher and is one of the strongest mobs in the mod. Equip custom weapons and armor from Legendary drops, use Enchantlets to add special enchantments to your gear, and ensure your group's progression is high enough that you're fighting Epic-tier mobs regularly.
What are Enchantlets and how do I use them?
Enchantlets are custom items that let you apply enchantments not available in vanilla Minecraft to your gear. Collect them from mob drops and use them to customize your weapons and armor for specific strategies against different mob types.
Do randomized mob stats and offhand items make every fight different?
Yes—each mob spawns with unique randomized stats and a random offhand item that changes its behavior or abilities. This means the same tier of mob can feel very different depending on what stats and items it rolled.
What happens when I unlock Rare tier mobs?
New custom mob types like the Magician and Alchemist begin spawning alongside regular mobs, offering more complex and difficult encounters than lower tiers. These mobs have unique mechanics that differ from standard mob behavior.
Can I play Infinity Cave solo or is it only for groups?
You can play solo—the progression system is designed around groups so friends progress together, but a single player will still earn progression points and unlock higher tiers normally.
How do I change the difficulty if the caves are too hard?
