How to Set Up an Infinite Emerald Farm Using Villager Trades

Pick the Right Villager and Trade

With Infinite Trading installed, any villager trade stays unlocked forever, so the classic bottleneck of a trade locking after a few uses is gone. To build a sustainable emerald farm, find a villager whose profession offers a trade that converts a cheap, renewable item into emeralds. Farmers are a common choice because they buy crops like wheat, carrots, potatoes, and pumpkins. Librarians, fletchers, and clerics also have useful buy-trades depending on what your farm produces.

Automate the Input

Once you have a villager with a good buy-trade, build a farm that produces the item they want. A simple wheat or carrot farm with a villager farmer harvesting and a hopper minecart collecting drops works well. Feed the harvested crops into a chest next to the villager's workstation so you can quickly grab stacks and trade them. Because trades never lock, you can trade the same offer repeatedly without waiting for restocks.

Scale Up

Place multiple villagers with the same profession in separate cells so you can trade with each one in sequence. Each trade gives emeralds, and since nothing locks, you can keep cycling through them. Use the emeralds to buy other useful items from different villagers, or store them for later. The key point is that you no longer need to worry about a trade running out — just keep feeding items in and collecting emeralds out.
