How to Tell Whether Indium Is Actually Doing Anything
The Short Answer
Indium has no GUI, no config screen, and no visible in-game effect of its own. You will never see an "Indium" button or a new block. Its only job is to let other mods' Fabric Rendering API calls work while Sodium handles the actual rendering.
How to Verify It Is Working
1. Check your mod list. Indium should appear as a loaded mod. If it is missing from the list, it is not running.
2. Look for the practical evidence: blocks and entities from Fabric Rendering API mods render correctly instead of showing missing textures or invisible geometry. If those mods look right, Indium is doing its job.
3. Compare behaviour. Without Indium, API-dependent mods break visually under Sodium. With it, they render. That difference is the only reliable signal.
4. Do not expect a framerate change. Indium does not improve performance over Sodium alone, and it does not reduce it meaningfully either. If you are chasing FPS, Indium is not the lever.
5. If a rendering mod still misbehaves, the problem is usually that mod, not Indium. Indium is a compatibility layer, not a fixer for every rendering bug.
Treat Indium as invisible plumbing: correct output from other mods is the proof it is installed.
