How to Use Furnaces and Brewing Stands Without GUIs

Smelting on the Furnace Face

With ImmersiveMC, a furnace exposes its input, fuel, and output slots as physical positions on the block. Aim at the top slot to insert what you want to smelt, and the lower slot for fuel. The flame and arrow indicators render on the block itself so you can read progress at a glance without any screen. When the output slot fills, aim at it and interact to collect the finished item.

Brewing Stand Interaction

Brewing stands work similarly: the ingredient slot and the bottle positions are placed around the stand. Aim at the top to drop in your brewing ingredient, and at each bottle position to insert or retrieve potions. Watch the bubbles rendered on the stand to judge when the brew finishes, then pull the bottles out by interacting with their spots.

Practical Workflow

  • Stock fuel first so you are not interrupted mid-smelt.
  • Use the on-block progress visuals instead of hovering; they update in real time.
  • In VR, reach out and physically place items into each slot for the most natural feel.
  • If interaction feels off, step back slightly so your crosshair or hand lines up cleanly with the slot you want.
