How to Display the In-Game Time Without Pressing F3

Carry a Clock

Time display in Immersive Overlays is tied to carrying a clock, exactly the way coordinates are tied to a compass. There is no keybind to toggle it on its own.

1. Obtain a clock.

2. Keep it in your inventory — hotbar, main inventory, or offhand all work.

3. The time overlay will render automatically while the clock is held in your inventory.

Reading the Overlay

Because the mod is designed to be immersive, the time is presented as an in-world element rather than a raw tick number. Use it to judge when night mobs will start spawning, when it is safe to sleep, and how long until sunrise. If you are underground for long stretches, the clock is the only reliable way to know whether it is day or night on the surface.

Troubleshooting

  • If the time overlay vanished, you probably dropped or stored your clock. Re-obtain one.
  • If both coordinates and time are missing at once, the whole overlay system may be disabled in config.
  • If only one of them is missing, the corresponding tool is missing from your inventory.

Keeping a compass and a clock together in your inventory gives you both overlays at once, which is the intended way to play with this mod.
