Immersive Overlays Mod FAQ

10 questions players actually ask, answered.

Why aren't my coordinates showing up?
Coordinates only appear while you're actually carrying a compass in your inventory or hand. If you stashed it in a chest or dropped it, the overlay disappears until you pick one up again.
How do I get the time to show on screen?
Carry a clock and the in-game time will appear as an overlay without needing to open F3. Like the compass, it has to be on you, not in a chest.
Do I need to enable anything to turn the overlays on?
No toggle is required for the basics — the overlays activate automatically based on the tools you're carrying. Configuration is only needed if you want to change behavior or add support for other mods' tools.
Why does my overlay show coordinates but not time (or vice versa)?
Each piece of info is tied to a specific tool: compass for coordinates, clock for time. If you're only carrying one of them, you'll only see that one overlay.
How do I see my Y-level and the weather?
These extra readouts appear when you're carrying tools the mod treats as supported for that info. Check the mod's config or supported-tools list to see which items qualify.
Does the overlay work in the Nether or End?
Yes — as long as you're carrying the required tool, the overlay works in any dimension. A compass still shows your coordinates even where it can't point to spawn.
Can I use tools from other mods to trigger the overlays?
Yes, the mod supports integration with other mods like Spelunkery and Caverns & Chasms. If a modded item counts as a compass, clock, or supported tool, it can trigger the matching overlay.
How do I add support for a tool from another mod?
Use the mod's configuration to register which items should count as compasses, clocks, or other supported tools. Once configured, carrying that item will show the corresponding info.
Will this mod hurt my performance or cause lag?
The overlays are lightweight text drawn on screen and only update based on your inventory, so performance impact is minimal. If you notice issues, check for conflicts with other HUD mods.
Why is the overlay overlapping another mod's HUD?
Multiple HUD mods can draw in the same screen area. Adjust the overlay position in the mod's config, or move the other mod's HUD, so they don't stack on top of each other.
