How to Configure Immersive Overlays for Other Mods

Mod Integration Explained

Immersive Overlays is built to work alongside other mods, including ones that add their own tools, compasses, or environmental information. The integration means that tools from those mods can drive the overlay the same way vanilla compasses and clocks do.

1. Install the other mod as you normally would.

2. Launch the game once so the mod list is registered.

3. Open the Immersive Overlays config and look for the section that maps tools to overlays.

4. Confirm that entries from the other mod are present and enabled.

5. Obtain the relevant tool in-game and carry it to trigger the overlay.

Adjusting What Shows

If an integrated tool is producing an overlay you do not want, disable that specific mapping rather than removing the tool from your inventory. This lets you keep the tool for its normal function while hiding its readout.

When Integration Does Not Work

  • Make sure both mods are loaded on the same side (client) that renders the overlay.
  • Check that the other mod's version is one the overlay mod recognizes; unrecognized tools simply will not appear in the mapping list.
  • If a tool from another mod shows no overlay, it may not be a supported type — only tools the mod explicitly maps will trigger a readout.

After configuring once, the setup persists, so you only need to revisit it when you add new mods.
