How the Entity Tick Scheduler Works

Understanding the Tick Scheduler

Immersive Optimization Mod improves server performance by changing *how* entities and block entities are ticked, not by turning their ticks off. Instead of processing every entity on every tick, the mod gradually reduces their tick rate and spreads updates across multiple ticks.

This means distant entities and farms keep functioning, but their updates arrive less often and more evenly. The result is smoother performance without the broken behavior that comes from fully disabling ticks.

The mod also adjusts tick rates automatically based on current server load, so it responds to changing conditions rather than using one fixed setting. This makes it useful for modpacks and servers with heavy entity loads, and it can be combined with mods like Entity Culling, which handle rendering rather than ticking.
