Using I'm Fast Mod on a Server Without Installing It on Clients

Server-side only, explained

I'm Fast Mod is designed to run on the server. Because the movement checks it removes live on the server, clients don't need the mod at all. A player with a completely vanilla client can join and move fast without being kicked, as long as the server has the mod.

Setup checklist

1. Put the mod in the server's mods folder (for a dedicated server) or in the world's mods setup for LAN.

2. Do not require clients to install it — there's no client component needed for the core fix.

3. Restart the server and verify it loaded by checking the server log for the mod's load entry.

4. Have a vanilla client join and test fast movement to confirm the fix applies to unmodded players too.

Cautions for server owners

  • Since clients don't need the mod, you can't rely on it as a client-side toggle. It's a server policy change.
  • It does not replace an anticheat. If you run one, configure it separately, because this mod won't stop an anticheat from flagging speed.
  • On public servers, removing movement validation can enable actual cheating. Use it where you trust your players or where speed is intended gameplay.
  • Keep a backup of your server config before adding movement-affecting mods, so you can revert if behavior changes unexpectedly.
