Illager Raid Music Mod FAQ
10 questions players actually ask, answered.
Why isn't the raid music playing when a raid starts?
The soundtrack only triggers once a raid actually begins, so you need to have Bad Omen active and then enter a village to start the event. If you're already inside the village when you get Bad Omen, leave and re-enter so the raid properly initializes.
Does the raid music play for every raid or only some of them?
It plays whenever a raid event is active near you, regardless of which village triggered it. If you don't hear it, check that your music volume slider isn't turned down and that no other mod is overriding the raid music track.
How do I get Bad Omen to start a raid in the first place?
Kill a pillager patrol captain, who is the pillager wearing the banner on his head, and you'll receive the Bad Omen effect. Then walk into a village with the effect still active to trigger the raid and its music.
Can I turn the raid music off without muting all of Minecraft's music?
Yes, the mod's soundtrack is tied to the music volume category, so lowering the Music slider in sound options will reduce or silence it. If you want to keep vanilla music but drop the raid track, check the mod's config file for a toggle.
Does the music stop when the raid ends?
The track fades out once the raid is over, either when you defeat all waves or when the raid is lost. If it keeps looping after the raid bar disappears, reloading the world or restarting the game usually clears it.
Is the raid music different for each wave or does it loop one track?
The mod plays a custom soundtrack during the raid event rather than a separate track per wave. It's designed to loop or continue for the duration of the raid so the atmosphere stays consistent.
Will this mod conflict with other music or sound mods?
It can conflict with mods that replace or heavily modify the music system, since both may try to control what plays during a raid. If you hear overlapping tracks or silence, try loading this mod after the other music mod or disabling one of them.
Does the raid music affect performance or cause lag?
The mod only adds an audio track, so performance impact is minimal and shouldn't cause noticeable lag even during large raids. If you do see stuttering, it's more likely from the raid mobs themselves than the music.
Can I make the raid music louder or quieter than the rest of the game?
The track follows the Music volume slider, so it can't be adjusted independently unless the mod's config offers a separate volume option. Check the config file for a music volume setting if you want finer control.
Does the music play on a server or only in singleplayer?
The soundtrack is client-side, so it plays for you whenever a raid is active near you, whether you're in singleplayer or on a multiplayer server. Other players won't hear it unless they also have the mod installed.
