Choosing Between Icon Xaero's Resource Pack and Other Map Icon Packs
What This Pack Is Good At
Icon Xaero's Resource Pack focuses on giving Xaero's Minimap and World Map distinct, readable icons for waypoints, structures, entities, and points of interest across many mods. If your goal is clearer navigation and a more polished map without changing how Xaero's itself behaves, this pack is the straightforward pick. It is purely cosmetic — it does not add detection, routing, or new waypoint features.
How It Interacts With Other Packs
Because it is a resource pack, it competes with any other pack that retextures Xaero's icons. You cannot meaningfully run two icon packs for the same markers at once; the higher one in the load order wins. If you prefer a different art style for some icons, you would need to pick one pack or manually merge textures, which is not something the pack supports out of the box.
Deciding Based on Your Setup
If you already use a broad UI or texture pack, check whether it also touches Xaero's map textures before adding this one. If it does, decide which style you prefer and order them accordingly. If you only care about vanilla-friendly icons and do not run many mods, the benefit is smaller; the pack shines most when you have several mods adding structures and entities that need distinct markers.
