Recovering Chests, TNT and Furnaces from Minecarts

The mod is not limited to hoppers. Any minecart variant that was made by combining a block with a minecart can be broken back down, and you keep the block.

Supported Minecart Variants

• Hopper minecart: returns the hopper.
• Chest minecart: returns the chest.
• TNT minecart: returns the TNT.
• Furnace minecart: returns the furnace.

How to Do It

1. Put the minecart variant into a crafting grid slot.

2. The output slot shows the recovered block.

3. Pull the block out. The minecart is gone.

Important Notes

• You cannot reverse the process to get the minecart back. The cart is always the lost component.
• Do not expect a shapeless recipe with extra ingredients; it is a direct one-to-one conversion.
• Because the output is the block and not the cart, this is best used on carts you have already decided you do not need as carts.

When This Helps

• You over-crafted TNT minecarts for a trap and want the TNT back for other uses.
• You have leftover furnace minecarts after switching to powered rails.
• You want chests back for storage without spending more wood.

Sort your unwanted carts into a chest first, then break them down in batches.
