Improve Visibility of Block-Entities at Distance

What Are Block-Entities?

Block-entities are special blocks with data and functionality: chests, furnaces, signs, beacons, and similar structures. By default, they only render at close range, making distant bases or structures hard to see clearly.

Extending Block-Entity Render Distance

1. Access the mod's configuration settings

2. Find the block-entity render distance option

3. Increase this value to see chests, furnaces, and other interactive blocks from further away

4. Apply changes (restart world if required)

Practical Uses

  • Base scouting: Spot distant structures and builds more easily
  • Mining operations: See furnaces and storage blocks from across your mining area
  • Multiplayer bases: Identify other players' structures at a glance
  • Navigation: Beacons and signs become visible from much greater distances

Performance Considerations

Block-entity rendering is generally less demanding than entity rendering, so you can often increase this value more aggressively. However, monitor your frame rate if you're in an area with many block-entities (like a storage room or farm).
