I See You Over There Mod FAQ

10 questions players actually ask, answered.

How do I enable the mod after installing it?
The mod works automatically once installed—there's no activation step needed. Open your world and you should immediately notice entities and block-entities rendering at greater distances than vanilla.
Does this mod work in multiplayer?
Yes, but your visibility depends on the server's entity tracking distance settings. On servers with strict tracking limits, you may see entities render but watch them disappear when they leave the server's tracking range—this is a server-side restriction, not a mod limitation.
Why do entities disappear when I look away and back?
In singleplayer, the mod automatically syncs tracking distance with render distance to prevent this. In multiplayer, the server controls when entities are tracked; if they leave the server's range, they'll unload even if your client can render them.
Can I use this with a zoom mod?
Yes—the mod is designed to work with any zoom mod. When you zoom in, the render distance automatically increases so you can see fine details on distant objects without them becoming pixelated or disappearing.
How do I adjust how far I can see?
The mod respects your client's render distance setting in video options. Increase your render distance slider to see entities and block-entities farther away; the mod will enhance visibility at whatever distance you set.
Does this affect performance?
Rendering more entities at distance does increase GPU and CPU load. If you experience lag, try lowering your render distance or disabling the mod for block-entities if you only need entity visibility.
Why can't I see name tags on distant mobs?
Name tags have their own separate render distance limit in Minecraft. This mod enhances entity and block-entity rendering, but name tag visibility is controlled by separate game settings.
Does this work with modded entities and blocks?
Yes, the mod applies to all entities and block-entities, including those added by other mods, as long as they use standard Minecraft rendering systems.
Can I see through walls to distant objects?
No—the mod only increases render distance, not line-of-sight. You still need a clear view to see distant entities and blocks; it doesn't enable x-ray vision.
What's the difference between entity and block-entity render distance?
Entities are living things like mobs and players; block-entities are special blocks like chests, furnaces, and signs. This mod boosts both separately so you can see mobs from far away and spot distant chests or machines clearly.
