Troubleshooting the Hypixel Mod API When Features Stop Working In-Game

Symptoms to look for

You've installed the API and a dependent mod, but its server-aware features don't appear: no stat overlays, no dungeon info, nothing that relies on server communication. The mod loads, but behaves as if it can't reach the server.

Checks to run

1. Confirm you're actually connected to Hypixel. Features that depend on the API only function on that server.

2. Verify the API and the dependent mod are both enabled in your mod list — a disabled API silently breaks dependents.

3. Check the log for handshake or connection messages from the API. Errors here usually point to a version mismatch between the API and the dependent mod.

4. Make sure no other mod is intercepting or blocking the same network channel. Two mods fighting over the same channel can cause one to fail quietly.

5. Reconnect to the server after changing mods — some features only initialise on join.

When to suspect the mod, not the API

If the API loads cleanly and other dependent mods work, the problem is likely the specific mod rather than the API itself. Test by removing that one mod and seeing whether the rest of your server-aware features return.
