How to Fix "Hypixel Mod API Not Found" Errors When Launching Mods
Why the error appears
Many SkyBlock and QoL mods declare the Hypixel Mod API as a required dependency. If the API jar is missing from your mods folder, or it's sitting in the wrong loader's directory, the dependent mod will refuse to load and you'll see a message naming the API as a missing dependency. This is not a server-side problem — it's purely a local file placement issue.
Step-by-step fix
1. Close Minecraft completely.
2. Open your mods folder for the loader you actually launch with (Fabric, Forge, NeoForge, etc.). Each loader has its own folder — putting the API in the wrong one is the most common cause.
3. Confirm the Hypixel Mod API jar is present and matches the same Minecraft version as your other mods. A jar built for a different game version will be ignored.
4. If you use multiple instances (e.g. one for SkyBlock, one for vanilla), make sure the API is in the mods folder of the instance you're launching, not just your main profile.
5. Relaunch and check the log. The dependency error should be gone; if a different mod still complains, that mod may need a newer build.
If it still fails
Remove duplicate copies of the API jar — two versions in the same folder can confuse the loader. Also verify the dependent mod itself isn't outdated relative to the API.
