How to Link and Teleport Your Tamed Animals with Golden Apples

The Horsing Around Mod lets you bind a tamed animal to yourself so you can summon it from anywhere. This is the core feature players ask about, so here is the full workflow.

Linking an Animal

1. Tame the animal first using its normal method (bones for wolves, seeds for parrots, etc.). Only tamed animals can be linked.

2. Hold a Golden Apple in your main hand.

3. Right-click the tamed animal with the Golden Apple. The animal consumes the apple and becomes linked to you.

4. Watch for the confirmation — the animal is now bound to your player.

Teleporting a Linked Animal

Once linked, the animal can be recalled to your side. Use the mod's teleport keybind (check your Controls menu under the Horsing Around category, since the default may conflict with other mods). Pressing it pulls your linked animals to your current position.

Keep in mind:

  • The animal must be in a loaded chunk or otherwise reachable for the teleport to resolve cleanly.
  • If you link multiple animals, they should all respond to the same teleport action.
  • Re-feeding a Golden Apple is how you re-link if you change your mind or the link is lost.

This is ideal for bringing a wolf pack to a new base or rescuing a pet stranded far from home.
