How do I link an animal to myself in Horsing Around?
Feed a Golden Apple to a tamed animal and it becomes linked to you. Once linked, you can teleport it to your side whenever you want.
How do I teleport my linked animal to me?
After an animal is linked by feeding it a Golden Apple, use the mod's teleport action to pull it to your current position. This works across distances, so you can summon a lost pet back to you.
Why does my hunger bar disappear when I ride a horse?
That's vanilla behavior — the hunger bar is hidden while mounted. Horsing Around restores the hunger bar display so you can keep an eye on it while riding.
Do I need to feed a Golden Apple every time I want to teleport my animal?
No. The Golden Apple is only used to establish the link. Once linked, the animal stays linked and can be teleported without feeding it again.
Can I link more than one animal at a time?
Yes, you can link multiple tamed animals. Each one you feed a Golden Apple to becomes linked, and you can teleport them individually or manage them together.
My animal won't teleport, what am I doing wrong?
Make sure the animal is actually tamed and that you fed it a Golden Apple to link it — untamed or unlinked animals won't respond. Also confirm the animal is still alive and loaded in the world.
Does the hunger bar show while riding any mount or just horses?
The mod is built around horse riding, so the hunger bar display applies when you're mounted on a horse. Other mount types may not be affected.
Will teleporting my linked animal work across dimensions?
Teleporting linked animals is intended for bringing them to your side within your current world. Cross-dimension behavior isn't guaranteed, so keep linked animals in the same dimension if you rely on summoning them.
Is Horsing Around compatible with other mods?
It's available for both Forge and NeoForge, so it works alongside most mods on those loaders. If another mod also changes horse riding or animal linking, test them together to be safe.
Does this mod hurt performance or cause lag?
The features are lightweight — a hunger bar display and a link/teleport system — so performance impact is minimal. Lag would more likely come from having many linked animals loaded at once.
