How to Configure Hoe Tweaks (Range, Un-till, and Speed)

Finding the config

The Hoe Tweaks Mod is fully configurable, and its options live in the mod's config file. Open the config through your mod loader's config menu or by editing the file directly, then restart or reload as your loader requires. All the tweaks below are toggled or tuned there.

Key options

  • onlyUntillWithOtherHandEmpty (default true): when enabled, un-tilling only works if your other hand is empty. This lets you hold seeds in your off-hand and still plant while using the hoe, without accidentally un-tilling farmland. Set it to false if you want un-tilling to work regardless of what's in your off-hand.
  • cropBlockBreakSpeedModifier (default 8.0, min 0.0, max 20.0): controls how much faster pumpkins and melons break when hit with a hoe. A value of 0.0 disables the speed bonus; higher values make them break faster.

Range and crouch behavior

The increased till range is tied to the hoe's tier, and by default you must crouch to use the wider area. If you'd rather always till the full area without sneaking, look for the crouch/range option in the config and disable the crouch requirement. Remember that each extra block tilled costs durability, and Unbreaking reduces that cost.
