Why Use a Hoe on Cacti?

With this data pack installed, hoes are now effective tools for breaking cacti blocks. This means you'll harvest cacti significantly faster than with your bare hand or a pickaxe, making large-scale cactus farms much more efficient.

How to Harvest

1. Equip a hoe – any hoe type works (wood, stone, iron, diamond, or netherite)

2. Approach your cactus block and left-click to break it

3. Collect the cactus drop as it falls

The hoe will break the cactus block quickly, just like it does with hay bales or other hoe-mineable blocks. This is especially useful when harvesting multiple cacti in succession.

Tips for Efficiency

• Use a higher-tier hoe (iron or diamond) for even faster breaking speed
• Stand safely to the side of cacti, as they deal damage on contact
• Combine this with an automated farm design to maximize your harvest rate
• The hoe's durability will decrease with each block broken, so repair or craft replacements as needed
