HMI Pose Editor Mod FAQ
10 questions players actually ask, answered.
How do I open the pose editor?
Press the N key to open the main editor menu. If you want to change which key opens it, go to your game settings and look for the keybind options for this mod.
Do I need to be holding something to use the editor?
Yes, you should hold an item or block in your hand before opening the editor. The sliders will adjust the pose of whatever is currently in your hands.
Can I edit both hands at the same time?
You can edit one hand at a time, but you can switch between your main hand and off-hand using the menu to adjust dual-wielded items. There's also a separate editor for empty hand poses if you want to customize how your hands look when holding nothing.
What do the sliders actually control?
The sliders let you move items around on your screen (position), spin them in different directions (rotation), and make them bigger or smaller (scale). Each adjustment updates in real-time as you drag the sliders.
How do I save a pose so I can use it again later?
Once you've adjusted an item the way you want, save it as a custom pose template with a name you'll remember. Your templates are stored automatically in a config file in your game folder and can be loaded whenever you want.
Can I delete a pose template I don't want anymore?
Yes, you can delete custom pose templates directly from the editor menu. Just select the template you want to remove and choose the delete option.
Do my custom poses stay saved if I close the game?
Yes, all your custom poses are automatically saved to a config file in your game folder, so they'll be there when you load the game again.
Can I use this mod with other mods that change how items look?
This mod works alongside Hold My Items and should be compatible with most other mods, but visual mods that heavily modify item rendering might conflict. Test it in your world to see if poses display correctly with your other mods.
Why aren't my pose changes showing up in the game world?
Make sure you've actually saved your pose as a template and applied it. Also check that you're holding the correct item—poses are specific to what's in your hands, and switching items will show different poses.
Can I edit the pose of empty hands?
Yes, there's a separate editor just for empty hand poses. Open the main editor and look for the empty hand pose option to customize how your hands look when you're not holding anything.
