Finding Ancient Debris Efficiently with the Blue Highlight
Prepare Your Mining Setup
Before heading into the Nether, gather a Diamond or Netherite pickaxe—you'll need it to mine Ancient Debris. Bring plenty of food, blocks for bridging, and consider water buckets for safety. The blue highlight works best when you have a clear line of sight, so bring torches to light up large caverns.
Scan Large Areas Systematically
Once in the Nether, clear out sections of Netherrack in a grid pattern. The bright blue blocks will stand out immediately against the dark red environment, even in your peripheral vision. This is especially effective when strip-mining or clearing out lava lakes—the color contrast makes it nearly impossible to miss.
Mine the Blue Blocks
When you spot a blue Ancient Debris block, use your pickaxe to break it. The block will drop as an item. Collect it and continue scanning. The resource pack doesn't change mining speed or drop rates—only visibility. This means you can gather Ancient Debris at the normal pace, but you'll find significantly more because you won't accidentally overlook any blocks while digging.
