How to Hide or Show the Recipe Book with the Hotkey

Using the Toggle Key

Once the mod is installed, the recipe book is controlled by a single hotkey. By default this is Tab. Press it while any crafting interface is open — your player inventory, a crafting table, or a furnace — and the recipe book panel will slide in or out of view.

1. Open your inventory or a crafting table.

2. Press Tab to toggle the recipe book on or off.

3. The book icon and panel appear or disappear immediately, with no need to close and reopen the screen.

Avoiding Conflicts with the Player List

Because Tab is also the default key for the multiplayer player list, you may worry the two will clash. The mod is built to keep them separate: the recipe book toggle only fires while a crafting GUI is open, so pressing Tab during normal gameplay still shows the player list as usual. If you ever find the two interfering, open the mod's config and change the toggle key to something you don't use elsewhere, then save and reload the game so the new binding takes effect. The setting that governs whether the hotkey works at all is allowRecipeBookToggleHotkey — if toggling does nothing, check that this option is enabled in the config file.
