Hey Wiki Mod FAQ
10 questions players actually ask, answered.
How do I open a wiki page for what I'm looking at?
Point your crosshair at any block or entity and press H (or your custom keybind). A popup will appear with a link to the wiki page for that block or entity.
Can I check the wiki for an item in my inventory?
Yes. Hover over the item in your inventory and press H, or press Alt + H to instantly open the wiki for the item in your main hand.
How do I search for a wiki page if I don't know what to look at?
Press B to open the search screen, type the name of the block, item, or entity you want, and select it from the results.
What happens if I point at a modded block—does it work?
Yes. The mod automatically detects modded blocks and items and opens their respective mod wiki pages instead of the vanilla Minecraft Wiki.
Can I change the keybinds?
Yes. Open your controls settings and search for the Hey Wiki Mod keybinds to customize H, Alt + H, and B to whatever you prefer.
What are the special commands for?
Special commands let you quickly navigate to related wiki pages, like crafting recipes or similar items, without leaving the current page.
Can I use wiki links in chat?
Yes. Type [[wiki link]] syntax in chat and it will automatically convert into a clickable link that opens the wiki page.
Can I browse the wiki inside Minecraft instead of opening a browser?
Yes, but it's optional. You can enable in-game browsing through MCBrowser and MCEF if you want to read wiki pages without leaving the game.
Does this mod work with other mods?
Yes. The mod is designed to work alongside other mods and will open the correct wiki page for any modded content you point at.
What do I do if the wiki page won't open?
Make sure you have an internet connection and that your keybind isn't conflicting with another mod. If a block or entity has no wiki page, the mod will notify you instead of opening a blank page.
