How to Read Enchantment Info on Your Held Item Without Opening Your Inventory

Where the Info Appears

When you hold a weapon, tool, or piece of armor, the mod overlays its enchantment list directly onto your HUD, positioned just under the item name. You do not need to press any key or open your inventory — the panel updates the moment the held item changes, so switching hotbar slots instantly refreshes the display.

Making the Most of It in Combat

  • Keep your main weapon in one hand and cycle hotbar slots with the scroll wheel; watch the enchantment lines change as you scroll so you always know which sword has Sharpness versus which has Fire Aspect.
  • When a mob resists one damage type, glance at the overlay to confirm the enchantments on your alternate weapon before committing to the swap.
  • For armor, equip the piece and check the overlay to verify Protection levels before heading into a fight, rather than hovering each piece in the inventory screen.

If the Info Does Not Show

Make sure the item is actually in your hand, not merely selected in a container. Items sitting in your inventory or a chest will not trigger the overlay. If the panel is hidden, check the mod's config options — visibility toggles and position offsets are typically adjustable there, so you can move the text if it overlaps other HUD elements.
