How to Change the Health Bar Colors and Style in Health Indicator TXF

Opening the Config

Health Indicator TXF keeps all of its visual options in a config file rather than an in-game menu. Depending on how you launched the game, you can usually reach it from the Mods list on the main menu (select the mod and open its config screen) or by editing the config file in your game's config folder. If a config screen is available, changes apply as soon as you save; if you edit the file directly, restart the game so the new values load.

Tuning the Bar Appearance

Once inside, look for options grouped around the HUD bar. You will typically find separate color settings for the health bar fill, the background of the bar, and the armor indicator, plus a toggle for whether health is shown as a number, a bar, or both. Set the fill color to something that contrasts with the background so low-health targets stand out, and pick a distinct armor color so you do not confuse the two bars at a glance.

Checking Your Work

After saving, walk up to any mob and watch the HUD. If the bar still looks like the default, the config did not reload — close and reopen the game. Test against a few different mob types, since some entities show armor and others do not, and confirm the numeric readout matches the bar length. Adjust brightness or opacity if the bar is hard to read against bright terrain or the sky.
