How to Heal Passive Mobs and Pets with a Campfire
Understand what gets healed
The mod heals players and passive mobs inside the campfire's radius. The key rule is that anything classified as a monster is excluded, so hostile mobs will not benefit. Vanilla passive animals like cows, sheep, pigs, and chickens are healed, and pets such as wolves and cats are healed too. Modded passive entities also work as long as they are not classified as monsters.
Build a healing pen
Place a campfire in the middle of an animal pen or barn. Because the healing area is a radius around the campfire, a single campfire can cover a decent-sized enclosure. Keep the animals inside the radius so injured or low-health animals recover on their own. This is useful after a mob attack, a creeper explosion, or when bringing home animals that took damage on the journey.
Practical uses
Use healing campfires in breeding pens so animals stay healthy between breeding cycles. Put one near your wolf's sleeping spot so your pet recovers after fights. If you run an animal farm, a few well-placed campfires keep the whole herd topped up without you needing to feed them golden apples or splash potions. Just make sure the campfire is lit and the animals are within range — the effect applies automatically with no interaction needed.
