Healing Campfire Mod FAQ
10 questions players actually ask, answered.
How do I actually get the regeneration effect from a campfire?
Just place a campfire and stand within its healing radius. The effect applies automatically to you and any passive mobs nearby, no activation or fuel needed. Both normal and soul campfires work the same way.
Does the campfire need to be lit to heal?
Yes, the campfire must be lit for the healing area to function. An unlit campfire provides no regeneration, so make sure it has fuel or was placed already burning.
Why isn't my campfire healing me?
Check that the campfire is lit, that you're inside the configured radius, and that you're not in a dimension or area where the effect is being blocked. If you changed the config, make sure the changes were saved and the world was reloaded.
What's the default healing radius and can I change it?
The default radius is 16 blocks, and it can be adjusted in the config between a minimum of 1 and a maximum of 64. Changing it affects every campfire in the world, not just one.
Will the campfire heal my pets and farm animals?
Yes, passive mobs including pets and farm animals are healed as long as they're within the radius. Anything classified as a monster is excluded, so hostile mobs won't benefit.
Does it heal modded mobs too?
Yes, modded passive entities are healed as long as they aren't classified as EntityClassification.Monster. If a modded mob uses the monster classification, it won't receive regeneration.
Can I stack multiple campfires to heal faster?
Placing several campfires doesn't stack the regeneration level, but it does expand your coverage area. To make healing stronger, adjust the regeneration level in the config instead.
How do I turn off the healing particles?
There's a config option for particle visibility. Disable it if you want the healing to work silently without the visual effect cluttering your base.
Can I change how long the regeneration effect lasts?
Yes, effectDurationSeconds in the config controls how long the regeneration effect lasts each time it's applied. Increasing it means the effect lingers longer after you step away from the campfire.
Does this mod work on a server, and will it lag with many campfires?
It works on servers, and the effect is lightweight since it only checks entities within each campfire's radius. Performance stays fine unless you place an extreme number of campfires with a very large radius.
