How to Configure Cloud Height So Weather Works Above the Clouds

Why You Must Set This Yourself

On a multiplayer server, the game has no built-in value for where the cloud layer sits, so the mod cannot guess it. That means the altitude-dependent weather effect does nothing until you tell it the cloud height in the config file. Single-player worlds also read this value, so set it once and it applies everywhere.

Steps

1. Locate the mod's config file in your instance's config folder. Open it with a plain text editor.

2. Find the entry that stores the cloud height. It is a single Y-level value representing the altitude at which clouds render.

3. Set it to match the cloud height you actually see in-game. If you use a resource pack or a mod that moves clouds, use that visible height instead of the vanilla default.

4. Save the file and restart the game so the value loads.

5. Verify by flying above your chosen height during rain. Rain particles should stop appearing at and above that level, and the sky should read as clear.

Matching It to Your World

If you run a server with a custom world height or a skyblock-style map, pick a height that sits above your build area but below where players normally fly. Everyone connecting to the server uses the server's config value, so agree on one number before you set it.
