Building a Sky Base That Exploits Permanent Clear Weather

Pick a Height Above the Cloud Line

To get the mod's clear-weather effect, build above the cloud height set in the config. Once you are up there, rain never falls on your base, so you avoid waterlogged redstone, snow buildup, and mobs that spawn more in storms. Confirm your build sits above the configured level before committing resources.

What You Gain

  • No rain means no water flowing into redstone or item frames, and no lightning strikes on your structures.
  • Open-sky farms still need water, since the rain growth bonus does not apply above the clouds.
  • You can leave decorative builds, banners, and campfires exposed without weather ruining them.

What You Lose

Riptide tridents will not launch you in open air up here, and rain will not extinguish you if you catch fire. Keep a water source and fire protection handy. If you want the rain bonus for crops, put those farms below the cloud line and keep only dry builds up top. This split lets you farm efficiently below and live comfortably above.
