Customize Font Size and Scaling
Adjusting Text Scale
The HD Font resource pack applies Roboto Bold across all in-game text, but you can fine-tune how large it appears. Open your resource pack folder and locate the font configuration files.
Steps to Modify Scaling
1. Navigate to .minecraft/resourcepacks/ and find the HD Font folder
2. Open the assets/minecraft/font/ directory
3. Edit default.json to adjust the point size and character spacing values
4. Increase the scale value to make text larger, or decrease it for a more compact appearance
5. Save your changes and reload the resource pack in-game
6. Return to the main menu and check menus, chat, and inventory to preview the new size
Testing Your Changes
Open different screens—inventory, crafting tables, and chat—to ensure the font scales consistently across all interfaces. If text becomes too large and overlaps, reduce the scale incrementally. Keep a backup of the original default.json file so you can revert if needed.
Remember that extreme scaling may cause text to clip or become unreadable in cramped UI spaces.
