HD Font FAQ
10 questions players actually ask, answered.
How do I enable the HD Font after installing the resource pack?
Load the resource pack through your Resource Packs menu in-game, select HD Font – Roboto Bold from the available packs list, and move it to the active column on the right side. The font will apply immediately to all menus and interfaces.
Can I use HD Font with other resource packs at the same time?
Yes, you can stack HD Font with other resource packs by ordering them in your active list. Place HD Font above or below other packs depending on which textures you want to prioritize—packs higher in the list take precedence for overlapping elements.
The font looks blurry or pixelated. How do I fix this?
Check that your GUI scale is set appropriately in Video Settings—very high or very low scales can cause rendering issues. If the problem persists, try disabling and re-enabling the resource pack, or verify the pack loaded correctly by checking the resource pack list.
Does HD Font work on multiplayer servers?
Yes, resource packs are client-side only, so HD Font works on any multiplayer server without requiring server-side installation or permission. Other players won't see your font changes—only you will.
Can I make the font bigger or smaller?
You can adjust font scaling through the Customize Font Size and Scaling guide, which allows you to modify how large the text appears in menus and interfaces without affecting gameplay readability.
Why is the font not showing up in my world or chat?
The HD Font resource pack only affects menu interfaces and item names—in-world text and chat typically use the standard font. Ensure the resource pack is active in your list and hasn't been accidentally disabled.
Does this mod affect my FPS or performance?
HD Font is a lightweight resource pack with minimal performance impact since it only replaces font files. You should see no noticeable FPS drops on most systems.
Can I combine HD Font with a texture pack that changes the UI?
Yes, but you'll need to manage pack order carefully—place HD Font and your texture pack in the order that prioritizes the elements you care most about. If both packs modify the same UI elements, the higher pack in the list will take precedence.
The font looks different in my inventory versus menus. Is this normal?
Different UI elements may use slightly different font rendering depending on the context, but the overall Roboto Bold style should be consistent. If you notice significant inconsistencies, try reloading the resource pack.
Will HD Font work if I have mods that change the interface?
HD Font should work with most interface mods since it only replaces the font file, but mods that heavily customize UI rendering may conflict. Test the combination and refer to the Troubleshoot Font Rendering Issues guide if problems occur.
