Move Barrels Using Haul

Barrel Pickup

Barrels work identically to chests with the Haul mechanic. Stand next to a barrel, ensure both hands are empty, sneak, and right-click to pick it up.

Carrying Barrels

Like chests, carrying a single barrel applies Slowness. The barrel and all its contents move with you as one inventory item. Attempting to carry two or more barrels will lock you in place—you cannot move or jump.

When to Use Barrels vs. Chests

Barrels are useful for mobile storage during exploration or when you need compact, stackable storage. Since the Haul mechanic treats them the same as chests, your choice between them should depend on your base design and aesthetic preferences rather than hauling mechanics.

Placement

Once at your destination, place the barrel normally. It will retain all stored items.
