Fixing Handovers That Won't Trigger

Check Sneaking First

The most common cause is not sneaking. With mustCrouchToGiveItem enabled (the default), you must hold your sneak key while right-clicking the other player. A normal right-click does nothing. Hold sneak, aim at the player, then right-click.

Check What's in Your Hand

The mod only transfers the stack in your main hand. If your main hand is empty, or the item you meant to give is in your offhand, the handover will not work as expected. Move the stack to your main hand and try again.

Check Your Aim and Distance

You need to be aiming at the player's hitbox and standing close enough to interact. If you are too far away, or a block or another entity is between you, the right-click lands on the wrong target. Step closer and look directly at them.

Check the Recipient's Inventory

If the recipient's inventory is completely full, the items drop at their feet instead of going into a slot. That is intended behavior, not a failure, but it can look like the handover did not work if you expected the stack to disappear into their inventory.

Check Message Settings

If you see no confirmation message, the sender or receiver message option may be turned off in the config. The transfer can still succeed silently.
