Make GUI Text More Readable
Understanding Text Rendering
GUI Retextures improves text clarity through sharper font rendering and better contrast against background textures. However, readability depends on your display settings and font preferences.
Improving Text Visibility
1. Adjust GUI scale: In Video Settings, modify the GUI Scale slider to find a comfortable size (larger scales make text bigger)
2. Enable text shadows: Ensure text shadows are enabled in accessibility or video settings—this adds depth and readability
3. Check brightness: Increase your monitor brightness or adjust Minecraft's brightness slider if text appears dim
4. Verify resource pack variant: Some variants prioritize readability over aesthetics—try switching to a "high-contrast" or "accessibility" variant if available
Font Customization
If the default font still feels hard to read, check whether GUI Retextures includes font variants. Some versions allow you to swap between serif and sans-serif options or adjust font weight. These are typically found in the pack's configuration folder.
If text remains blurry, your resource pack may need updating or may conflict with a font-modifying mod.
