GUI Retextures Resource Pack FAQ

10 questions players actually ask, answered.

How do I apply the resource pack to my world?
Open your world, go to Settings > Resource Packs, and move the GUI Retextures pack from Available to Active. The changes apply immediately without restarting.
Can I use this with other resource packs?
Yes, but pack order matters—place GUI Retextures above packs that also modify GUIs if you want its textures to take priority, or below if you prefer other packs' interfaces.
Why do some buttons look cut off or stretched?
This usually happens when the pack conflicts with your screen resolution or another resource pack's GUI modifications; try disabling other packs temporarily or adjusting your GUI scale in Video Settings.
The text in menus is too small to read. What do I do?
Increase your GUI Scale in Video Settings (Options > Video Settings > GUI Scale), or check if a custom theme in the pack's settings has a smaller font size you can adjust.
Can I change the colors of the GUI elements?
Many GUI Retextures packs include a customization folder or config file where you can edit color values; check the pack's main folder for a README or config directory with color options.
Does this mod work with Optifine or other performance mods?
Yes, GUI Retextures is a resource pack and doesn't conflict with performance mods like Optifine, though you should load it after Optifine's resource packs in your active list.
Some GUI elements aren't retextured. Why?
The pack may not include textures for all screens (like mod-added GUIs), or those elements might be controlled by mods that override resource pack textures; you can add custom textures to the pack's folders to fill gaps.
How do I restore the default GUI if I don't like the retexture?
Move the GUI Retextures pack below the Default pack in your Resource Packs list, or disable it entirely by moving it back to Available.
Will this resource pack affect my game's performance?
No, resource packs have minimal performance impact; GUI Retextures only changes textures and won't cause lag.
Can I mix textures from different GUI packs?
You can layer multiple GUI packs in your active list to combine their styles, but overlapping textures will conflict—the higher pack in the list takes priority.
