Why Timer Matters for Lava

Fire Resistance is essential for lava exploration, but the effect wears off silently. Without a visible countdown, you risk taking damage or drowning when the buff expires. The GUI Effect Timer Mod shows you exactly when to exit the lava.

Check Your Active Effects

Before entering lava, drink or apply Fire Resistance. Look at your active potion effects—you'll see the Fire Resistance icon with a countdown timer at the bottom. This timer displays in seconds (s), minutes (m), or hours (h) depending on duration.

Plan Your Exit

Watch the timer as you explore. When it reaches 10-15 seconds remaining, begin moving toward safety. This buffer gives you time to climb out or swim to shore before the effect expires.

Reapply Before Zero

Drink another Fire Resistance potion before the timer hits zero. The mod will update instantly, showing your new duration. Never let it expire while submerged in lava—the damage is immediate and fatal.
