Grit Survival Combat Mod FAQ
10 questions players actually ask, answered.
How do I turn natural health regeneration back on?
Natural regeneration is disabled by default in Grit Survival Combat Mod to force reliance on medical items. You can re-enable it through the mod's configuration settings if you prefer a less punishing experience, though this removes a core survival challenge.
What's the difference between bleeding and shock?
Bleeding is an active wound that drains health over time and requires bandages to stop, while shock is a status effect that can kill you even at full health and must be treated with medical items like medkits or adrenaline auto-injectors. Both conditions can occur during combat and need different treatments.
How long do I have to revive a downed teammate?
A downed player has a limited time window before their bleedout timer expires and they die permanently; the exact duration depends on their injuries and shock level. You must use an adrenaline syringe to revive them before this timer runs out.
Can a downed player do anything besides crawl?
During the first ten seconds after being downed, a player can crawl slowly to reposition themselves for safety or to reach cover. After that window, they can only wait for revival or surrender to enemies.
Do bodies disappear or stay on the ground forever?
Fallen player bodies remain on the ground as lootable items and can be searched to recover their inventory. You can also drag bodies by sneaking and right-clicking to move them to safer locations or hide them.
What does the Health Scanner actually show?
The Health Scanner is a handheld tool that displays the current health of players and villagers within twelve blocks, helping you assess whether teammates need healing or if enemies are weakened. It's useful for tactical decision-making during group combat.
Can I finish off a downed enemy or do I have to revive them?
You can choose to finish off a downed enemy to prevent their revival, or you can leave them alive for your team to capture or negotiate with. Downed players can also surrender to avoid being killed.
Do bandages and medkits heal the same amount?
Bandages and medkits serve different purposes: bandages stop bleeding wounds, while medkits treat shock and provide more comprehensive healing. You'll need both types of medical supplies in your inventory for different combat situations.
What happens if I die while downed?
If your bleedout timer expires while you're in the downed state, you die permanently and drop your inventory as loot. Your teammates cannot revive you once this timer reaches zero.
Does this mod work with other mods that change health or healing?
Grit Survival Combat Mod fundamentally changes how health and healing work, so compatibility depends on how other mods interact with these systems. Test your mod combination in a safe world first, as conflicts could cause unexpected behavior.
