Protect a Tall Tower or Underground Base with Height Limits
Set Up Your 3D Claim
If your base extends high into the sky or deep underground, you need to define exact height boundaries to protect only the space you use.
1. Hold a golden shovel
2. Type /3dsubdivideclaims to enter 3D subdivision mode
3. Right-click to mark the corners of your base's footprint on the ground
4. After marking the area, right-click on a block at the lowest point you want protected (your base floor or deepest mine level)
5. Right-click again at the highest point you want protected (your tower top or ceiling)
Why This Matters
Without height limits, your claim extends from bedrock to sky, wasting protection space and making it harder to manage multiple bases. Setting exact top and bottom boundaries means trolls cannot build above or below your structure to cause problems. This is especially useful for tall towers where someone could build a griefing platform just above your roof, or deep bases where someone could tunnel underneath.
Once set, your claim glows with a visible border so you always know your protected zone's exact limits.
