Grief Prevention3 D Plugin FAQ
10 questions players actually ask, answered.
How do I start protecting my base?
Hold a golden shovel and right-click two corners of the area you want to protect. The plugin will create a rectangular claim between those points. If you want more control over the shape or height, use /shapedclaims or /3dsubdivideclaims instead.
Can I protect just a specific room or layer of my base?
Yes, use /3dsubdivideclaims to switch into 3D mode, then right-click to set exact top and bottom height limits for that area. You can create multiple subdivisions inside one claim if AllowNestedSubClaims is enabled on your server.
What's the difference between a claim and a subdivision?
A claim is your main protected area, while a subdivision is a smaller protected zone inside it with its own separate height limits. Subdivisions let you protect specific rooms or layers without creating multiple separate claims.
How do I see my claim borders?
If VisualizationGlow is enabled, your claim will have a glowing outline around it so you can always see exactly where your land ends. If the glow isn't showing, ask your server admin to enable it in the config.
Can I let my friend build right next to my base?
Use /neighbortrust to allow a specific friend to build closer to your borders than the MinimumDistance setting normally allows. This bypasses the spacing requirement just for that player.
How do I connect two bases I built far apart?
Stand inside your first claim, type /mergeclaims, walk to the second claim, and type /mergeclaims again. The two claims will merge into one large protected area.
Can I make non-rectangular claims?
Yes, use /shapedclaims to enable custom shape mode, then right-click multiple points to draw a custom border around your base instead of a simple rectangle.
Do Withers still break my blocks inside my claim?
By default, Withers cannot break blocks in your protected land. Use /witherexplosions to toggle this on or off for your specific claim if you want to allow Wither damage.
Why can't I claim land close to someone else's base?
Your server has a MinimumDistance setting that forces empty space between player claims to prevent neighbors from building too close. Check /claim distance check to see how much space you need, or ask your server admin to lower the requirement.
Do chat messages appear in my language?
If PerPlayerLocale is enabled, the plugin automatically translates messages based on your game language settings. Some messages may also appear on your action bar instead of chat to keep your screen less cluttered.
