Troubleshoot Missing Custom Models
Verify Pack Installation
If mobs still look like vanilla Minecraft creatures, the custom models aren't loading. First, confirm the resource pack is installed in your resource packs folder and appears in your resource pack list.
Check Pack Priority
Resource packs load in order from top to bottom. If another pack is above Gray's Monster Overhaul, it may override the custom models:
- Open Options > Resource Packs
- Drag Gray's Monster Overhaul to the top of the selected list
- Close and reopen your world
Clear Cache and Reload
Minecraft sometimes caches old textures. Try these steps:
1. Close your game completely
2. Delete the resource pack cache (usually in your .minecraft/resourcepacks folder)
3. Relaunch Minecraft and reload your world
Test with New Mobs
Spawn or find newly-loaded mobs in unexplored chunks. Mobs that loaded before the pack was activated may not update their appearance. If new mobs display custom models but old ones don't, this confirms the pack is working — the old mobs just need to despawn and respawn.
