Gravity Changer Unofficial Port FAQ

10 questions players actually ask, answered.

How do I change gravity for just myself?
Use `/gravity set_base_direction ` without specifying entities to change only your gravity. You can also use the Gravity Changer item in your inventory to rotate your perspective and adjust which direction feels like "down" to you.
What's the difference between set_base_direction and set_relative_base_direction?
Set_base_direction uses absolute directions (up, down, north, south, east, west) that stay the same no matter where you look. set_relative_base_direction uses your current look direction, so "forward" always means the direction you're facing.
Can I make gravity affect only certain mobs or players?
Yes, add entity selectors to your gravity commands—for example, `/gravity set_base_direction up @e[type=zombie]` changes gravity only for zombies. You can target specific players, mobs, or groups using standard Minecraft selectors.
How do I create a zone where gravity works differently?
Place a Gravity Core block and it will create a custom gravity zone around it. You can then use commands or the Gravity Anchor to lock and control the gravitational orientation within that zone.
What does gravity strength do and what's the normal value?
Gravity strength controls how fast you fall or how strongly gravity pulls you; lower values make you float or fall slowly, higher values create stronger pull. The normal value is 1.0, and you can adjust it using `/gravity set_base_strength` within a range of 5 to 15 using attributes.
Can I change gravity for an entire dimension at once?
Yes, use `/gravity set_dimension_gravity_strength ` to apply gravity strength to all players and mobs in your current dimension. Check dimension-wide settings with `/gravity view_dimension_info`.
Why can't I walk on walls or ceilings after changing gravity?
Make sure you've actually changed the gravity direction using a command or the Gravity Changer item—just changing the direction isn't enough if your character hasn't adjusted their orientation. Walk toward the wall or ceiling and you should stick to it once gravity pulls you that way.
Does this mod work with other mobs or just players?
The mod works on both players and other mobs across your world. You can target any entity type with gravity commands, so zombies, villagers, animals, and bosses can all be affected by custom gravity.
How do I reset gravity back to normal?
Use `/gravity reset` to reset your own gravity, or `/gravity reset @e` to reset all entities in the world back to normal down-facing gravity with standard strength.
Can I use raw numbers instead of direction names for gravity?
Yes, use `/attribute @p gravity_changer:gravity_direction base set ` with values 0–5 (where 0 is down and 5 is east), or `/attribute @p gravity_changer:gravity_strength base set ` for direct strength control.
