Gravestone X Curios API Compat Mod FAQ

10 questions players actually ask, answered.

How do I get my Curios items to go back into their slots after I die?
With this compat mod installed, Curios items stored in your grave are automatically re-equipped to their matching slots when you retrieve them. Just loot your grave normally and the mod handles the slot placement for you.
Why aren't my Curios items going into my grave when I die?
Make sure the compat mod is actually loaded alongside both Gravestone and Curios API, since it only works when all three are present. If items still stay on your body, check that your grave has room and that the Curios slots aren't being blocked by another mod.
How do I equip Curios items directly into their slots with this mod?
Open your inventory and use the Curios slot panel as normal, or right-click the item to auto-place it into its valid slot. The compat layer just ensures Gravestone recognizes those slots when you die and respawn.
Do I need Curios API installed for this mod to work?
Yes, this is a compatibility patch between Gravestone and Curios API, so both parent mods must be installed. Without Curios API there are no Curios slots for the mod to manage.
Will my Curios items be lost if I die in lava or the void?
Gravestone still creates a grave at your death location, but if that location is unreachable (deep lava, void), the items may be effectively lost. The compat mod only changes how Curios items are sorted into slots, not where the grave spawns.
Can I use this mod with other grave mods instead of Gravestone?
No, this mod is specifically built for Gravestone and won't affect other grave mods. If you swap grave mods, remove this compat patch to avoid conflicts.
Why do some Curios items return to my inventory instead of their slot after death?
Items only auto-equip if a valid Curios slot is free and the item is recognized by Curios API. If the slot is occupied or the item isn't registered as a Curio, it goes to your inventory instead.
Does this mod work on servers, or only singleplayer?
It works on both, but the server and client should have matching mod setups for slot syncing to behave correctly. On servers, install it server-side at minimum so grave retrieval logic runs properly.
Will this mod cause lag or performance issues?
No, it's a lightweight compatibility layer that only runs during death and grave retrieval events. It doesn't add ticking logic or new entities, so performance impact is negligible.
What happens if I have more Curios items than slots when I retrieve my grave?
Items that fit go into their slots, and any extras are placed into your inventory or dropped at your feet. Make sure you have free inventory space before looting your grave to avoid dropping items.
