Why aren't my golems showing the new female model?
You need to install OptiFine or mods like Entity Model Features (EMF) and Entity Texture Features (ETF) for the custom model to load. Without these, the resource pack can only change textures, not shapes.
Do I need to do anything special after installing the resource pack?
Load the resource pack in your world's resource pack settings, then make sure your mod loader (OptiFine/EMF/ETF) is active. Existing golems in your world may need you to reload chunks or restart for the new model to appear.
How many different golem designs are there?
The pack includes 5 different visual styles that spawn randomly as you encounter golems throughout your world, so each one you meet may look slightly different.
Will the golems still protect my village?
Yes, this is purely a visual and audio mod—golems function exactly the same way they normally do, defending villagers and players from hostile mobs.
Can I hear the custom voice lines in single-player?
Yes, the custom voice lines play whenever golems act, such as when they attack mobs or idle around your village.
Does this work with other mods that change mob models?
It should work fine with most mods, but if you have other resource packs or mods that also modify iron golems, they may conflict—load this pack last in your resource pack list to prioritize it.
Will this mod affect my FPS?
The resource pack itself has minimal impact, but the required mods like OptiFine or EMF may affect performance depending on your system; OptiFine often improves FPS while EMF is lighter but still requires some resources.
Do the golems look different on servers?
Other players on a server will only see the new golems if they also have the resource pack installed—for you, they'll always appear as the custom model.
Can I use this with Fabric or Forge?
Resource packs work with both loaders, but you'll need the appropriate mod version of OptiFine, EMF, or ETF installed for your loader to make the custom model visible.
What if I want to switch back to vanilla golems?
Simply disable or remove the resource pack from your resource pack folder, and vanilla iron golems will appear again on your next load.
