Glowing Animated Ore Ores Resource Pack FAQ
10 questions players actually ask, answered.
Why can't I see the glowing ore outlines?
The pack requires emissive texture support, which means you need OptiFine installed or a mod that provides emissive rendering. Without it, the glowing effect won't display. Make sure the resource pack is loaded above any conflicting packs in your load order.
Do the glowing ores work in the Nether and End?
Yes, the pack includes glowing textures for Nether quartz, Nether gold ore, and other dimensional variants. Ancient debris in the End also receives the glowing treatment for easier spotting.
Will this pack work with my shader mod?
Most shaders are compatible since they respect emissive textures, but some older or heavily customized shaders may conflict. Test it in a creative world first to confirm the glowing effect displays correctly with your specific shader.
Can I use this with other resource packs at the same time?
Yes, but load order matters—place this pack higher in your resource pack list than packs that also modify ore textures to avoid conflicts. Packs that only change GUI or entity textures won't interfere.
Does the animation speed change or is it always the same?
The pulsing animation runs at a fixed speed built into the pack's texture files. You cannot adjust the animation speed without editing the pack itself.
Why do deepslate ores glow differently than regular stone ores?
Deepslate ore variants are textured separately in the pack, so they maintain their own distinct glowing color while keeping the same mineral identity—this helps you recognize ores at any depth.
Does this pack affect mining speed or ore drops?
No, this is purely a visual resource pack. It changes only how ores look and does not alter any game mechanics, drop rates, or mining behavior.
Will the glowing ores cause lag or reduce my FPS?
The performance impact is minimal since emissive textures are lightweight, but very old computers or those running heavy shader packs may notice a small FPS dip. Test in a cave to see if your system handles it smoothly.
Can I see the glow color from far away, like across a ravine?
Yes, that's one of the pack's main features—the bright emissive outlines are visible from a distance, making it easy to spot rare ores across large caverns without needing to walk closer.
What happens if I use this pack with mods that add new ores?
New ores from mods won't have glowing textures unless the mod author or a separate patch adds them. The pack only covers vanilla Minecraft ores and their deepslate variants.
