Global Narration Toggle Mod FAQ

10 questions players actually ask, answered.

How do I turn on the narrator the first time I launch the game with this mod?
When the game starts in a fresh instance, the mod shows an accessibility onboarding screen before you reach the main menu. Choose the option to enable the narrator there and it will be turned on immediately and saved globally.
Why does the accessibility onboarding screen keep showing up every time I launch?
The screen reappears because the narrator is disabled in your global .minecraft settings. Enable the narrator once, either on the onboarding screen or in-game, and the mod will update the global setting so the screen stops appearing.
How do I make the narrator stay enabled across all my Minecraft instances?
Enable the narrator in any instance and the mod writes that choice to the global .minecraft folder. Every other instance reads that global setting on launch, so narration stays on everywhere without you re-enabling it each time.
Can I change the global narration setting without opening the game?
Yes. The mod stores the setting in the global .minecraft options file, so you can edit that file directly to enable or disable narration. The game and the mod will pick up the change on the next launch.
Does this mod work on a server or does it need to be installed on both sides?
It is a client-side mod, so it only needs to be installed on your own game. You can join any server with it, and other players do not need it for it to work for you.
Will this mod conflict with other accessibility or narration mods?
It only reads and writes the vanilla narration setting in the global options file, so it generally coexists with other mods. If another mod also manages that same global setting, expect one of them to override the other's changes.
I enabled the narrator in one instance but it's still off in another. What went wrong?
The global setting is only updated when the narrator is actually enabled, so make sure you turned it on rather than just opening the accessibility screen. Also confirm the other instance is using the same global .minecraft folder and not a separate launcher profile with its own directory.
Does the mod affect game performance or load time?
No meaningful impact. It only checks the narration setting in the global options file at startup and updates it when you change the setting, so there is no ongoing overhead during gameplay.
How do I turn the narrator back off if I don't need it?
Disable the narrator in the game's accessibility or narration settings as usual. The mod will sync that change to the global setting, so the onboarding screen won't nag you again on future launches.
The onboarding screen didn't appear on my first launch. How do I get it back?
The screen only shows when narration is disabled in the global settings, so if it was already enabled there it will be skipped. To see it again, disable narration in the global options file and relaunch the game.
