How to Survive and Fight Giant Zombies

Know What You Are Facing

Giant zombies in Giant Spawn Mod use a modified zombie AI, so they are not the passive, stationary giants from vanilla commands. They will path toward you, attack, and can be genuinely dangerous. Their size gives them long reach and heavy hits, so trading blows up close is a bad idea.

Combat Strategy

• Fight from range whenever possible. Bows and crossbows let you damage them while staying outside their melee range.
• Use terrain to your advantage. Stand on a raised block or pillar so the giant cannot reach you, then shoot or hit it from above.
• Avoid fighting in enclosed spaces. Their reach and knockback can trap you against walls.
• Bring good armor and healing. A single hit can take a large chunk of health.
• If you cannot win, retreat and let them despawn or lure them into lava or a fall.

Controlling Their Presence

If giants are too overwhelming, edit giantspawn-common.toml and lower chanceSurfaceZombieIsGiant. You can also set shouldBurnGiantsInDaylight to true so daylight helps deal with them, or keep onlySpawnGiantOnSurface at true to avoid surprise encounters underground. Adjust these to match how challenging you want your world to be.
