How to Change the Giant Zombie Spawn Chance in Giant Spawn Mod

Find and Open the Config File

Giant Spawn Mod stores its settings in a config file that generates the first time you launch the game with the mod installed. Navigate to your Minecraft directory and open the config folder, then locate giantspawn-common.toml. Open it with any plain text editor.

Adjust the Spawn Chance Value

Inside the file you will find the option chanceSurfaceZombieIsGiant. This controls the probability that a zombie spawning on the surface becomes a giant instead of a normal zombie. The default value is 0.025, which works out to roughly 1 in 40. The value must stay between 0 and 1.0.

  • To make giants rarer, lower the number (for example, 0.01).
  • To make giants more common, raise the number (for example, 0.1).
  • Setting it to 0 disables giant spawns entirely.
  • Setting it to 1.0 makes every surface zombie a giant.

Save the file and restart Minecraft so the change takes effect. If you are running a server, edit the same file on the server side, since spawning is handled there. You can verify your change by exploring at night and watching how often a giant appears among the zombies.
